Wedding Flower Ideas for a Traditional Church Wedding

Firsty Congratulations if you are reading this Blog you most probably have got engaged and are planning your Big Day!

Here at Olivia Brooke we want to share with you some of our experience & ideas of a Traditional Church Wedding and some different options & designs.

So here are a few of our Wedding Ideas:-

Bride & Bridesmaid Bouquets there are various options available, back on trend is the Cascading Bouquet, this is a beautiful design which literally allows your chosen flower to " casacade"like a waterfall of flowers. This Bouquet is designed to spill gracefully over the bride's hands as it flows downwards for a  high impact, sophisticated and stylized look,  which is a statement in itself and flexible for almost any flower to be used in this style.

The bouquet is roundish at the top but pointy at the bottom. The modern smaller version is called the teardrop bouquet or trail bouquet, these are modern, stylish and flattering for nearly all brides.

The Posy is round & small and with ease can be held in one hand. There are two styles of posy bouquets, one loosely in a hand tied unstructured, or  a formal and wired Posy,  where the stems of the flowers are removed and replaced with florists wire, constructed into a much lighter posy with and easy to hold handle.

These two styles are widely used where the natural stems are wrapped in a beautiful satin, velvet or organza ribbon and some embellished with pearl pins, beading trims or lots of diamante if" Bling" is what you love!

Popular Floral choices for this bouquet is Roses, Peonies, Calla Lilies.

The Presentation Bouquet/ the arm sheaf bouquet, first became popular in the early 1900's under the name of Bernhardt bouquets; inspired by the presentation bouquets given to the actress of the day, Sarah Bernhardt. They consist of  long stemmed flowers and foliages that the bride carries cradled in her arm also this is popular for bridesmaids to carry.

It is a stunning alternative to more traditional styles of bouquets, it is very chic, and best suited to modern style weddings. Tastefully designed to be cradled in the bride's arm and can be as simple or as elaborate as you like!

They can be single-ended, with stems showing at one end, or double-ended with no stems showing. A gorgeous ribbon provides the finishing touch. Popular floral choices for arm bouquets are calla lilies, gladiolus, orchids, long-stemmed roses, delphiniums, and larkspur.

Also deciding on Church Flowers, Pew ends, gorgeous designs of English Garden style flowers with Bows & Ribbons maybe sashes on chairs, flowers to compliment and mirror the theme of the bridal party flowers.

Another popular Wedding flower trend is Floral Arch designed around the church main entrance for the Bride & groom and and guests to be greeted with this to start the ceremony and a great opportunity for the pics afterwards and focal point! Roses, hydrangeas, luscious Peonies with foliage such as willow, Ivy, eucalyptus & Ruscus perfect to entwine into this design. Chiffon fabric & bows can be used to dress even fairy lights or crystals can be woven into the flower arch to give that extra special touch!

Backdrops are another favourite for the venue side to be used behind the top table or if a ceremony is in a marquee or state house room, this can be a picture perfect and a great talking point! A backdrop for where you say "I do" through to picture opportunities or behind a top table the options are endless.

A Rose is a popular design for a flower wall due to the thicker stems some more hardy to be placed within a collage style and can self-support.
